Why Your BNB Smart Chain Transaction Is Still Pending
A BNB Smart Chain transaction can stay pending because of a low fee, a blocked nonce or a wallet display delay; check its status before retrying or replacing it.

A BNB Smart Chain transaction usually stays pending because its fee is too low for current conditions, an earlier transaction from the same wallet is still waiting, or the wallet has not refreshed its status. Check the transaction hash in a block explorer first: it can show whether the network has accepted the transaction, while the wallet may still display stale information.
Why is my BNB Smart Chain transaction pending?
Transactions from one wallet are processed in nonce order, so a later transaction may wait behind an earlier one. BNB Chain’s developer documentation says BNB pays transaction fees on BNB Smart Chain; if the offered fee is unattractive to validators, the transaction may take longer to be included in a block.
A contract interaction can also need more gas than a simple transfer. Gas pays for the computation, while the gas limit sets how much computation the transaction can use; setting it too low can cause failure, while a low fee can slow inclusion. For a closer look at the difference between chart views, wallet views and on-chain records, see this Poocoin guide to reading wallet and chain data.
How can I tell whether it is pending or failed?
Search the transaction hash in a BNB Smart Chain block explorer. If it appears as pending, the transaction has not yet been included; if it is marked failed, the transaction was processed but its execution did not succeed. If no result appears, check that the wallet is on BNB Smart Chain and that you copied the correct hash.
The wallet’s activity screen is useful for finding the hash, but the explorer is the better place to confirm network status. A token transfer or swap can also involve a contract call, so an explorer’s transaction details may show more than the wallet’s short status label.
What should I do about a stuck transaction?
First, check whether a lower nonce transaction from the same wallet is still pending. Sending another transaction with a later nonce usually will not clear the queue; the earlier transaction must be confirmed, replaced or dropped by the network.
- Wait if the explorer shows pending and the fee looks reasonable; network activity and wallet refresh delays can affect what you see.
- Use the wallet’s speed-up option if available. It typically resubmits the same transaction with a higher fee so validators have more reason to include it.
- Use cancel or replace carefully. These options generally submit a new transaction at the same nonce. A replacement may fail if its fee does not meet the wallet or network requirements.
- Check the balance for BNB. The wallet needs BNB to pay the network fee, even when the asset being sent is a token.
Should I send the transaction again?
Do not resend the payment until you know the first transaction’s status. If it has already succeeded, repeating it could send the funds twice; if it remains pending, a second transaction may sit behind it.
For most users, the practical order is simple: look up the hash, check for an earlier pending nonce, then use the wallet’s speed-up or replacement tool if needed. Confirm the result in the explorer before treating the payment as complete.
