Bitcoin Cash cannot enter an Ethereum lending market directly: users need a supported Ethereum token, then must weigh bridge, custody and liquidation risks.

How to Move Bitcoin Cash Into Ethereum Lending

To use Bitcoin Cash in Ethereum lending, convert or bridge BCH into an Ethereum token that the chosen market accepts. Native BCH runs on a different blockchain, so an Ethereum lending contract cannot take it directly.

First decide whether you want to supply assets to earn interest or deposit collateral to borrow. Those are different uses of a lending market, and the token accepted for one may not be eligible for the other. For details on choosing a route after RenBridge, see the route guide; then check that any route you consider is live and supports BCH.

What are the ways to move BCH to Ethereum?

You can exchange BCH for an Ethereum asset, or use a bridge that issues or transfers a token representing BCH on Ethereum. An exchange route gives up BCH exposure; a bridged token aims to preserve it but adds reliance on the bridge and the token’s backing.

Before moving funds, confirm the destination network, the exact token contract and the lending market’s supported asset list. A token labelled “wrapped BCH” is not automatically interchangeable with another BCH representation, and sending BCH to an Ethereum address does not convert it.

How do you supply the asset or borrow against it?

Once the asset is in your Ethereum wallet, use a lending market only if it lists that exact token for your intended action. Supplying deposits the token into the market; borrowing requires eligible collateral and creates a debt that can be liquidated if its value falls too far.

  • Check that the market supports the token for supplying or collateral, as applicable.
  • Compare bridge, exchange, network and lending fees before choosing a route.
  • Review the market’s collateral factor, liquidation threshold and borrowing rate if taking a loan.
  • Keep enough ETH in the wallet to pay Ethereum transaction fees.

What should you check before transferring?

Test the route with a small amount, then verify the received token in your wallet and against the lending market’s official asset listing. If the token is mislabelled, unsupported or redeemable only through a route you cannot use, a successful transfer may still leave you unable to lend or exit.

For most users, exchanging BCH for an asset already supported by the market is simpler, but it changes the exposure they hold. Bridging is relevant when keeping BCH-linked exposure matters and the bridge, token backing and exit route are all clear.
