Fairshake named 32 House candidates it plans to support in the November midterms on Monday, Oct. 5, including six set to receive $1 million in spending each, the Associated Press reported. The slate includes 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats; all 32 backed the crypto industry’s priority market structure bill, according to AP.
Which candidates are set to get $1 million each?
The six are Democratic Reps. Janelle Bynum of Oregon, Steven Horsford of Nevada and Derek Tran of California, and Republican Reps. French Hill of Arkansas, Bryan Steil of Wisconsin and Bill Huizenga of Michigan, Roll Call reported. Fairshake has not disclosed how much it plans to spend on the other 26 candidates, according to AP.
Roll Call reported that Fairshake had $108 million in cash at the end of August, citing Federal Election Commission data. AP reported that Fairshake and affiliated PACs had about $120 million on hand at the same time.
What happened to the bill they backed?
The CLARITY Act passed the House in July 2025 but stalled in the Senate, which blocked it in September 2026, according to Roll Call. The bill would establish rules for digital asset markets; lawmakers failed to agree on ethics guardrails addressing public officials’ crypto ventures, the publication reported.
Fairshake spokesperson Geoff Vetter told AP the group backs pro-crypto candidates in both parties. The committee and its affiliates have also pledged nearly $30 million against Democratic Senate candidate Sherrod Brown in Ohio, AP reported.
